UNO Grand room with Sedum Roof
Our client needed a Garden Room that worked for all the family, young and old (ish!). The main use was as an entertainment space in the form of a pool table therefore at the early design stages, we factored this into the plans. The room also had to incorporate a desk for working from home (although we fear there may be a few too many distractions for that!!).
The room has lots of windows to create a light filled space but for practical reasons, blinds were set within the glazed units therefore avoiding hassles with dusting venetian blinds.
The other major "want" was for a living roof to attract lots of wildlife to the room to compensate for losing a portion of garden. A sedum roof provides fantastic additional insulation on the roof and, where a garden room sits lower than the house, ensures you're looking at something far nicer than just a roof! The sedum mats attract a host of bees, butterflies and birds adding a fabulously biodiverse feature to the garden.
