Calling all bookworms and avid-readers! We wanted to talk about the beauty of creating a safe, relaxing space to enjoy your time reading a good book and taking it all in. Roald Dahl is one of our favourite writers, so we wanted to talk about how wonderful it is to sit back and enjoy one of his books in your garden room. Even within his stories, Roald Dahl talks fondly of the characters enjoying reading a good book, in Matilda he mentions that: “The books transported her into new worlds and introduced her to amazing people who lived exciting lives.” Are you ready to be taken to a world far away?

Roald Dahl was a renowned author who created many celebrated works such as Matilda, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and The BFG! He was a staple in most children’s libraries and bookshelves. To this day, he is still widely read by people across the world and is regarded as one of the best children’s authors of all time.

With this in mind, we wanted to talk about a great use for a Garden room - a library. Or even just a cosy reading nook to call your own. With our range of rooms, the possibilities are endless and you can easily create the tranquil, calming space of your dreams, with no Twits to be seen anywhere! 

Turning the UNO into a mini library

Our UNO garden room is our smallest offering, but it could be your golden ticket. This space is perfect for someone who wants their own little safe haven and sanctuary. All you need is a comfortable chair, a small table and a few bookshelves.

Despite being our smaller offering, the UNO does come in three different sizes for you to choose from; ranging from the mini to the grand! So there are plenty of options for you.

There are plenty of options for this in regards to spacing and placing the furniture in certain ways to make the most of the space. You could have your shelving running over the back wall with your little chair in front, or you could have shelving around the entire walls. The choice is yours! But remember, the most important thing is to create a space that feels yours and feels like somewhere you would want to spend time reading a good book. Why not pick up your copy of James and the Giant Peach and settle in? The UNO is the perfect place for that. Grab a cuppa tea and get cracking.

Fill your DUO with an abundance of books 

Moving on to the DUO, our larger offering. The DUO is a dual space which allows you to have two rooms within the one garden room; how great is that?! The way you divide the space is completely up to you. So you could have a full-on library with a small seating space, or you could split it up 50/50.

This option allows you to have a little bit more space, so that you can create the library of your dreams. We are more than happy to help you and discuss the needs of your room with you. We want you to have the most comfortable space possible. As Roald Dahl once said in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory: “So please, oh please, we beg, we pray, go throw your TV set away, and in its place you can install a lovely bookshelf on the wall. Then fill the shelves with lots of books.”

The library of dreams with the DUET

So you still want an even bigger space to transform into a library? Here’s where the DUET can really help you out and save the day. In a nutshell, the DUET takes the DUO or UNO and adds a large canopy space to create an even larger room for you to enjoy.
