Uno Max Garden Room, a perfect showhome addition!

We were approached by MacTaggart & Mickel who were looking to add a Garden Room to their stunning, Newton Mearns development show home. 

When we first met, the site was just that, a giant mud pile of a building site! The landscapers had been appointed to create a stunning haven with seating areas, outdoor lighting, meandering paths and a spot for a Garden Room! We coordinated with the site managers and garden designers to agree levels, supply routes etc and the project took shape!

The room was built on a ground screw foundation professionally installed by our chums at No More Digging! Above is a pic of Mel on site, alongside one of the ground screws which, as you can see, are not insignificant little pegs rather mighty, robust galvanised piles that will outlast any slab base. 

At 4.8m x 3m the UNO Max Garden Room was initially used by the sales team as their "Options Suite" where potential buyers would select finishes for their home and ultimately, when the showhome was sold, the Garden Room transferred to the lucky new owners!

Working with the landscapers, we ensured the finished floor levels worked perfectly with the planned composite decking to ensure a seamless Outside / Inside building. UPVc sliding doors to the front and tilt and turn windows mean the room is secure and warm all year round. The walls, floor and ceiling are fully insulated therefore a far higher spec than a summer house type structure to ensure year round use.

The external lights have motion sensors to allow flexibility when popping to the room of an evening and internally the electrical plan was designed to suit both the short term show home aspect and future owners plans with full internet connectivity.
